Dev Nath Pathak is Associate Professor of Sociology and Associate Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at South Asian University, New Delhi. His research engages with the interface of literature and folklore in Mithila, the philosophy of the social sciences, and popular culture and media. He is the author of Living and Dying: Meanings in Maithili Folklore (Primus Books, 2018) and In Defence of the Ordinary: Everyday Awakenings (Bloomsbury, 2021), among other works. He is also an editor of Society and Culture in South Asia (Sage).
